Welcome Julia Baumanis. Our new Artistic Director

Julia Baumanis has recently been appointed as our new Artistic Director. Dr. Baumanis is a new Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at Mason Gross School of the Arts. She serves as Assistant Director of Bands at Rutgers University, and is the first female band director in the university’s history. She is the Conductor of the Rutgers Symphony Band, Assistant Director of the Marching Scarlet Knights, Director of Pep Bands. In addition she teaches courses in instrumental music education.

We anticipate continued growth under the direction of Dr. Baumanis and expect that she will lead us to expore new aspect of classical music including new way to present this traditional art form.

We wish to express out thanks to outgoing Artistic Director Mark Hyczko for the leadership he has provided and the major effort he as put into the orchestra. We know that he will continue to make a major impact on the classical music scene in central New Jersey.
