Christ Church Organ

The installation of Christ Church's organ was completed in January 2002. Richards, Fowkes and Company began installing our New Organ on August 20, 2001. Organ Builder Bruce Fowkes voiced each and every pipe (there are more than 1,500 of them) to the acoustics of our sanctuary. Our new organ has three keyboards: two for the hands and one for the feet, and twenty four sets of pipes, called stops. Each stop represents a different sound in the organ. Nine of the stops are attached to the lower keyboard, called the GREAT; nine to the upper keyboard, called the SWELL; and six to the keyboard for the feet called the PEDALS. The organ is entirely mechanical except for the blower to provide wind, and the light above the music desk.
