NBCO Challenge Grant to Increase the Audience for Classical Music

DONATE NOW

Help us bring classical music to a new generation of passionate listeners. An anonymous donor committed to expanding the audience for this fabulous music has offered the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra a $5000 challenge grant toward that end.

This is not an easy assignment, but the NBCO has the necessary talent, flexibility, and a track record for innovation. We propose to make a strong start through collaboration with the New Brunswick Jazz Project in a program that combines Jazz with classical-influenced jazz composers such as Duke Ellington. George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue will be a highlight of this program.  The event will be held in the acoustically stunning Nicholas Music Center on Friday, May 17.

Future collaborations with dance troupes, choirs, and visual artists will continue our efforts to expand interest and activity in the music we all love to new audiences of all ages and backgrounds.Every dollar you donate to this drive will be doubled. As an incentive, contributions of $100 or more will receive 2 tickets to the event in a special reserved ”donors’ section” – the best seats in the house (regular seating is unreserved).

Be an important part of our long-term efforts to bring the joy and excitement of classical music to so many more in our community!
