Transform A Friend

As our first concert presented under a new artistic vision quickly approaches we would like to encourage our supporters to transform a friend.

Connect with a friend that has never experienced a classical music concert and invite them to the concert this Saturday. Be their host and guide. Show them that whatever they think of classical music, NBCO is different.

We've made available the program for TRANSFORMATIONS (download a PDF here) and you can use the program notes to start a conversation about the pieces to be performed. Discuss the fact that violinist Stefani Collins is performing on an instrument older than our country (a rare Guarneri violin built in 1734!) Or how Michi Wiancko has added percussive elements to her arrangement of "La Follia" Variations for String Orchestra. And how Ástor Piazzolla transformed the tango of brothels and nightclubs into something entirely new, the "Nuevo Tango," by infusing it with the forms of classical composition that he adored.

Introduce a friend to NBCO. Transform a friend. Let's continue to reframe classical music.
