John Tavener “Mahashakti”
Henryk Górecki “Harpsichord Concerto, Op. 40”
Arvo Pärt “Tabula Rasa”

Join the members of the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra on Sunday February 10th, as they “Reframe Classical Music”. The program “Transcendence” explores the deeply spiritual minimalism of Arvo Pärt, Henryk Górecki, and John Tavener.

The program includes Pärt's remarkable "Tabula Rasa", written for two solo violinists, prepared piano, and strings, as well as Górecki's driving Harpsichord Concerto. A highlight of the program is the North American premiere of "Mahashakti" by John Tavener, written for solo violin and strings, punctuated by the quiet tolling of a gong, almost functioning as a call to prayer.

***THIS CONCERT WILL ALSO TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY FEB. 9 @ 7:30 PM IN WESTFIELD, NJ****
***TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE***
