MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra is to provide outstanding, intimate chamber concert experiences for the city of New Brunswick. In fulfilling its mission, the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra is committed to: Enhance and reflect the rich, multicultural and international identity of New Brunswick as a major arts center through the establishment of an excellent ensemble Enliven the appreciation of live music in Central New Jersey through the presentation of quality programs reflecting and including the interests of our communities; Provide performance opportunities and recognition to gifted New Jersey musicians and composers, as well as emerging young artists. |
ABOUT US The New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1960. The only chamber orchestra of its kind in the city, the ensemble has presented a wide variety of literature throughout its forty-five year career. Recent premieres include Grace Dances by New Jersey composer Jay Kawarsky. The NBCO has also collaborated with the Christ Church Choir, the Westminster Oratorio Choir, the Yue-Yue Ensemble, and others. Most recently, the NBCO was featured in the opening performance of the Fiftieth Anniversary Convention of the Organ Historical Society at the Round Lake Auditorium near Albany, New York. |
